When we see a family in need and begin sponsorship, we look for ways to help this family become self-sufficient. We look for skills and abilities the parent may have that would earn them an income if they had the tools to work. Then we raise funds for the purchase of the tools needed in hopes of the parent being able to earn money.

For example we have assisted with purchasing items for resale for a vendor, purchasing a motorcycle to use as a taxi to transport people for a fee, purchased a sewing machine for a seamstress to earn a living. 

We also assist older orphan children who will be turning 18 with education for vocational possibilities, so when they are required to leave the orphanage they will have skills to help them survive and hopefully thrive. We have offered a carpentry class and gave each student a basic set of tools upon completion of the course.
